Common Weal’s Campaigns Officer Jonathon Shafi joins Head of Policy and Research Dr Craig Dalzell to discuss one of the policy papers in our library.
Social Security For All Of Us explores the potential for Scotland’s social security policies post-independence.
Amongst the options discussed in the paper are the prospect of a Job Guarantee Scheme, a Universal Basic Income and a Negative Income Tax.
Johnathon and Craig also look at the failings of the UK’s welfare policies and why Scotland needs to become independent for a change of mindset to occur.
The article referencing the 130,000 deaths due to Austerity can be read here.
