For a couple of years now, our Head of Strategy, Robin McAlpine, has lent his expertise as a guest practical experience advisor to lecturers and fourth year illustration students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design by providing dedicated one-to-one mentoring and areal-life commissioning experience for the students. In return, the participating students have very generously donated the use of their artwork for use in our campaigning materials, publications and fundraising efforts. This year, one of the challenges proposed to the group was to create a Christmas card design which reflected the spirit of Common Weal and specifically our focus on inspiring everyone to come together to work for the collective good. There were many beautiful and worthy designs, and we are delighted and very grateful to showcase and share with you the outstanding work of the very talented Lauren Boyle, Maisie Mackenzie and Jenny Nutbourne.
Our set of six 14.8 cm x 10.5 cm (A6) Christmas cards includes 2 of each of the three designs and have been printed in 100% recycled white stock in the UK by an environmentally and labor ethics positive company. They include the artist’s credit and a wee description of what Common Weal is about and ‘Season’s Greetings’ as the inclusive printed message on the inside with loads of blank space left over to fit your own festive message. The set also includes matching FSC approved brown rimmed envelopes.
Please support these talented young artists by visiting their portfolio pages and supporting their individual work.
